The X_Gallery project was the addition of three floors onto the top of an existing Georgian building in Auckland. The original building served as an exchange and has been transformed into bespoke offices for design based firms.
The scheme completes the top floor of the traditional tripartite facade and then inserts two additional floors in a highly contemporary and contrasting material and form. The glass insertion is detailed in a very clean, crisp manner so as to highly contrast with the fabric of the existing historic building.
